In the world of business, a general belief is, "good sales need good marketing". Manufacturing anything greatly depends on need of the general people therefore before building anything it is required to study the market thoroughly. After manufacturing, distribution becomes very important and there comes the need of marketing.
Get More Popularity:
It is not possible to reach a wide variety of individuals if marketing of the product is done manually. Also it is not feasible to identify the needs of the market by surveying manually. A platform should be there through which one can publicize their product/services so that large number of people can view them at the same time. To achieve this, internet acted as the best media, which brought online/web marketing into existence.
Quick 5 Advantages of Web Marketing:
• Easiest way of distributing the information.
• Information can be broadcasted to a large variety of population.
• Cost effective way to market the product.
• It helps in gaining large profit.
• One can market the products and the services through out the globe.
Then what is the Need of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in Web Marketing??
Hard work always yields better results and Search Engine Optimization is not an exception from this concept. SEO is the most common buzz if someone is dealing with online marketing but due to lack of proper knowledge in this area people at times fail to implement the concept. SEO is a method to get higher positions in various search engines. It is the pathway following which a website can gain a huge traffic at a very lower cost. Manual popularization of websites to a vast group is not possible, Search Engines are the means through which one can reach a large public and can popularize the website.
Check the Benefits of SEO:
• 70 – 80 percent of the total online visitors find products/services through search engines. Thus, SEO helps websites in gaining a huge traffic.
• It is the cheapest source of online marketing.
• SEO can help you earn more profit than other online commercial means.
One needs to advertise the product in order to capture viewer's attention and also to get new customer. Other online marketing means charge a large amount for advertisement of one's products/services and also they had less visibility in online market where as with SEO the case is totally different. It charges very affordable amount to the clients and very high visibility for online marketing.
Thumb Rule:
Well known search engines always rank the websites depending on the relevance of the topic according to the search criteria. So, efforts should be paid on optimizing the websites. If the websites will be optimized properly then it would be able to achieve top rankings. Curious to know what is the need to achieve top rankings??? If your website will be on the higher positions depending on the search criteria then ...
You’ve probably heard about article marketing and its effectiveness with regards to search engine optimization. Article marketing generally employs the writing of relevant, information based articles on your keyword topics and syndicating them to various article directories online along with backlinks to your website in the resource box. Interview Transcript
Eric Enge: Can you start off with an introduction of yourself?
Adam Audette: I've been doing SEO for a number of years. I started back in the mid to late 90s, and at that time my father, John Audette, had a company called MMG. I was a link builder, and I would do something called the top 100, where we would submit sites to different directories like Yahoo, Rex and others for all kinds of clients. My father sold MMG to a large international agency sometime around 1999 or 2000, and after that I started consulting and working on different projects, and I started working for Link Exchange and then for Zappos.
MMG still has some pretty good roots in the SEO world. Some of the people who came out of the company are Derrick Wheeler (Microsoft in-house SEO), Marshall Simmonds (NY Times SEO), Adam Sherk, Bill Hunt (well known SEO) and Disa Johnson (well known SEO), among others. All these people who were active in the industry started at MMG, so it's pretty cool to have those old roots. While I was consulting in 2001 and 2002, I started to put together the idea of starting my own company.
That idea evolved over time, and now my company, AudetteMedia, partners with my father, who oversees all the operations and more or less guides the direction of the company. Meg Thompson, who is one of our partners, oversees all the clients and accounts in a vice president capacity. We work with a lot of eCommerce clients, and one of the biggest clients we have is Zappos, which we are going to talk about today. I am working pretty deeply in the company in terms of SEO and all that stuff, and I have to be there every two weeks or so.
Eric Enge: Do you have other clients that are large in size as well?
Adam Audette: Yes. Some of the other large clients we have are Michelin and the University of Phoenix. We work with Charming Shoppes, which has a number of retailers across the country, and with Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant and Catherine's. We do some projects for other large companies like AOL, and we also work with a lot of startups like DriverSide, Motorsport.com and Rockler.com.
We also do a lot of one-off projects for other agencies, things like audits. We are working a lot with large interactive agencies that don't necessarily have SEO capabilities. We'll do audits for an agency like AKQA and for one of their clients, and we'll also do SEO for clients such as HSBC. We work on a l ...

SEO Still Matters For SMBs
Whether Robert Scoble’s recent blog post was written intentionally as linkbait or not, the amount of attention it’s received justifies its mention in our Weekly Digest. The post is titled 2010: the year SEO isn’t important anymore? and features a video featuring George Revutsky and Dustin Kittelson, co-founders of an Internet Marketing firm (not what you would expect to see in a post claiming SEO isn’t important anymore). Outspoken Media have a great retort to Scoble’s claim. The comments are pretty insightful too.
Google’s Domination of the Internet Continues
In a deal reported to be $500 million, Google are said to be in “advanced acquisition negotiations” to buy Yelp. If the acquisition goes through, there are going to be huge ramifications for all things localized due to the wide reach that Yelp has. Greg Sterling has more insight at Search Engine Land .
Top 5 Reasons for Ongoing SEO Services
SEO is a process, not a quick fix. You have to be invested in SEO for the long-haul. The Online Marketing blog covers 5 reasons for ongoing SEO services. They are:
Ongoing search marketing consulting is important because a large percentage of organizations fail to implement the recommendations provided to them by their SEO consultants.
Search marketing consultants can help organizations proactively build links over time.
Ongoing search marketing consulting is necessary because the search engine industry changes often.
Companies have thinly spread employees; ongoing search marketing consulting acts as “more hands on deck”.
Many companies don’t actively or effectively use analytics on their own.

It appears we are all not quite seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with the latest economic slump. It has hit everyone hard regardless of business size or industry and in many cases marketing dollars are the first to disappear.
Truth be known, many companies that do succeed during tougher economic times are the ones who actually increase their online marketing budgets. In many cases this strategy is used to take advantage of the competition dropping their strategies all together and the benefits are far reaching well after the economy woes are over.
Everyone can understand the incredible value in this economy of having highly relevant traffic directed to your website showcasing your products or services. A skilled SEO company is your best and most cost effective option to handle the daunting task of continuously growing relevant and converting search engine traffic.
There are a large amount of key points to consider when deciding whether or not to outsource your SEM / SEO initiatives. The following points are two that are common throughout regardless of industry.
Keeping Current and Connected
The search engine marketing environment is a fast ever-changing world and typically reputable SEO /SEM firms stay current with tactics and trends. In-house marketing and IT employees are commonly wearing many hats and it is difficult to be up to date with current developments and news throughout the industry. This can include certifications, training and industry specific tips and tricks.
Enterprise level search marketing firms have an extensive network of professional colleagues and other contacts operating within the major search engine companies. The majority of SEM company employees have spent a great deal of time and effort participating within their own industry via social media channels such as twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. These added benefits can be a huge advantage to you and your company and in every case is a significant time saver if these resources need to be tapped for information during a search engine optimization of paid advertising campaign.
Can Our In-house Developer or Marketing Manager Do It All?
Perhaps, although these skilled individuals is very rare. Surprisingly enough it is common to find even mid-sized firms employ a single staff member to handle not only their web properties, social media management, paid advertising management but their search marketing strategy as well. The most skilled of professionals would find this an impossible juggling act and those who can manage this multi disciplined work load should be well coveted.
The potential danger of your company losing this individual over time and not finding a suitable replacement could be devastating. Companies that place a high value on this type of risk management should consider seeking outside professional search marketing assistance.
Freeing up in-house resources to focus on other vital business aspects of your company d ...
This week we had the pleasure of interviewing both Ken Walker and Victoria Edwards of Linkshare. Victoria works at Linkshare as an SEO/Internet Marketing Specialist and Ken is the Web Producer and Dean of LinkShare University.
How did both of you get started in the Internet Marketing industry?
Ken: I bought a book on HTML 1.0 for $14 in 1995. With it I co-founded a website development company out of my apartment. We started partnering with several advertising agencies, becoming their outsourced web team. We started adding SEO and other marketing services and within a few years grew to become one of the premier Internet Marketing firms in the Tampa Bay area and serviced both top national and international companies. I came to LinkShare through a chain of acquisitions.
Victoria: In 2006 I was hired by a custom fixture company to assist with their marketing efforts. Realizing they had a website, but no real valuable content or ease of navigation, I decided to take it upon myself and redesign the site. Not knowing how to redesign a site, I began doing research and stumbled across HubSpot, which had a great CMS which was easy for the non coder to work with. I redesigned the site and through HubSpot’s methodology, began learning SEO and social media.
Realizing SEO and especially social media was my passion; I began researching it on my own after work hours. Knowing I needed to be in the industry in order to learn more and to succeed with what I loved to do, I found LinkShare, one of few companies in Tampa who had Internet Marketing as a position.
What are the benefits of using an agency for Internet Marketing, versus doing it in-house?
Ken: Agencies build teams with advanced skills and specific expertise. They can leverage these teams for clients who often do not have the resources to build them in-house.
I’ve always believed companies should focus on their core competencies. Their marketing departments should be looking at crafting and maintaining the company brand and maximizing their customer’s positive experience with that brand. By leveraging the expertise of outside agencies to assist in strategy and implementation, they get the benefit of advanced industry experiences while still focusing on the customer.
For example, when we work with companies in areas such as social media, we provide the strategy, guidance and expertise but we always involve the company in the implementation. Social media requires ongoing customer contact. I believe it’s important for companies to maintain ownership of that customer interaction. It’s the single most important thing any company can do.
Victoria: Hiring an agency will be of great benefit because SEO and Social Media require a lot of time and effort. While agencies should not be the voice of the company they’re working for, they should be able to provide the appropriate key performance indicators and education. Being in the Internet Marketing indu ...

If you had a CSMO (Chief Social Media Officer), she'd probably design a search optimization strategy that embraced social media for brand awareness and pervasive discoverability of your business. I've written many times about the intense dependency of social media on your SEO strategy. Since I probably sound like a broken record, I’ll let some other folks (very solid experts) say it for your benefit and better than I ever could. The following articles were each published in the last few weeks and include commentary by Fast Company and other SEO experts. While optimizing specific product pages might have passed for a good SEO strategy three years ago, this is no longer the case. VC’s, CEO’s, CMO’s, IT groups and especially your prospects know this already. Creating an SEO strategy without incorporating the “social media” term is nothing short of a flawed marketing strategy. Dick,
Browsing your recent posts I notice a wide discrepancy in styles, syntax, spelling and grammar. Some flow nicely, some are barely legible.
What this suggests is copying and pasting of content from other sites, without crediting the author or without permission. This is not permitted here. Apart from the intellectual dishonesty involved, it's also illegal.
The post above is familiar to me. It also reads like an article from a web site or blog, not like a regular forum post.
If I'm wrong, I apologize ? but you need to be aware that if I'm thinking this way, so will others. Google picks up content and key words not just for indexing and ranking sites... it also sends alerts to authors like me: it's a simple way of checking who's ripping off your intellectual property.
Please be sure that you don't copy content from other sites to this forum without appropriate permissions and credit to the actual authors.
