Indian stock market upswings time and again have attracted many students, housewives and professionals to its fold. These new investors have a soaring high appetite to learn markets fast and in the most practical way.
It seems ET Online has realized this advancing segment although little late, as it launched Sharebaazi.com – Another online virtual stock market game in India.
The rules of the game are similar to others in the market as participants gets notional currency of Rs. 10 lakh to give shape to their trading ideas. Their notional gains will attract ranking and prizes from the portal.
The virtual trading portal is powered by Indian Fantasy League which allows users to play with their Indiatimes or IFL ID. Each game session will continue for a month and after that monthly prizes are allotted along with some weekly goodies.
Rishi Khiani, Indiatimes, CEO commented, “Stock markets have always been a place where informed choices have made people earn fortunes. We have launched a virtual game that makes people learn the nuances of the stock market in a thrilling manner.”
This step may not be that big for ET Online as this game do not integrates with their online portfolio service but could provide a significant opportunity for IFL as they have partnered with a established player for this new game.

MoneyBhai is the most famous of all virtual stock gaming portals. As it hails from Moneycontrol’s fold and offers some interesting trading play even for novice traders. It was the pioneer of the virtual stock market trading in India.

ibibo Super stocks is a part of its fantasy game series. It allows mock investments and is open to ibibo users only.
Most of this virtual stock trading game are relying on player’s trading data to turn profits in future as they can then re-use the data to predict market and stock sentiment for their partners/users. It is still to be noted that MarketHero , another notable player had to shut down due to advent of high costs and low initial revenues. Stockezy and MoneyVidya are already leading in social investing space in India sans any virtual trading game.
